NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY

We recommend that you have your newborn photography session up to 15 days after your childbirth. If you’ve had a C-Section you may have the photoshoot during this period. Some of our clients take up to a month to come to our studio for their newborn session, especially when they’ve had a natural birth. This is because in this case it usually takes more time for the baby’s body to “recover” from the experience. As long as you follow our expert advice on how to prepare for the photo sessión, there is no problem in doing it after those initial 15 days. 

You should book your shoot at least three months in advance. If you are confident that you want Lys Moya to be in charge of your newborn photography, you’d better book your session as soon as possible. Pregnancy and newborn sessions are in high demand and sometimes it is hard to find a date that suits your needs and our schedule. You may book up to 6 months in advance.

Please send an email to lys@lysmoyafotografia.com letting us know when you will be on your 30th week of pregnancy and which package you’d like to book. You must add your phone number so that we may contact you to confirm availability. Once the date is confirmed, we will send you the contract and the details for the down payment. Once that’s settled, your newborn photoshoot will be 100% confirmed.

A telephone or video call is included as part of the Elite package. During that call we will talk about your preferred style of pictures from my portfolio. We will also discuss wardrobe options. It is important that you are open to my suggestions. I will definitey by open to yours! If we combine your vision and my expertise we will achieve spectacular results. Once the booking is confirmed, you will receive our style guide to prepare you for the newborn photography session.

Each package has specific conditions. I suggest that you take your time to inspect our pricing page so that you may compare and select the package that suits you the most.

We will arrange and style each of the outfits that your newborn baby will be wearing during the session. We encourage styling the baby with his/her own clothes. That will make the photo session more personal and unique. So feel free to bring as many items of clothing as you want. We will pick and choose from your clothes and the studio’s wardrobe to create unique looks for you and your baby. 

Take a look at my portfolio for inspiration and try to bring similar clothes to the ones in the pictures you’ve selected. Don’t forget the basics: white shirt; black/white T-shirts, jeans and gorgeous underwear. 

I recommend 3 sets of underwear: a white set, a black set and a nude set. The latter will be especially important for the more creative sets. If you’d like your newborn photography to be nude (with underwear) then please try to bring special lingerie with lace or beautiful patterns.

You will receive a catalogue with all of the wardrobe options. We have a wide variety of gowns, fabrics and accessories to style you. So, even if you came to the shoot with just the basic sets of underwear, the end result will still be dazzling.

Of course! We love those kind of sessions! The shoot can be with just you and your baby or as a family. I strongly recommend that you only include the siblings in one of the sets. The rest of the session we can focus on you and your newborn baby (or you, your newborn baby and your partner). Please, always check with us beforehand, if you’d like to include your partner and/or your older children. If you have booked a basic package, we’ll only do a family set.

Pets are included as long as they are small and well behaved. Our photo studio has fragile and expensive equipment in it and it. Should any damage be caused by your pet, it would be your responsability to cover the expenses.

The photos will be taken at the beginning of the session and without the baby. We will include the baby in the photos when we edit them. You should always check with us beforehand and you should bring someone along who will take care of your pet and your older children during the rest of the session.
